Blessing and Benediction from Rev. Adriene Thorne
by Rev. Adriene Thorne
“I think it is healing behavior, to look at something so broken and see the possibility and wholeness in it.” — Adrienne Marie Brown
God invites us to look at the world—not with despair, but with healing imagination. When we look at the nations of the world today, we see fracture—war and division, climate crisis and displacement, greed and genocide. And yet, faith calls us to hold a holy paradox: to see the brokenness and still believe in the possibility of wholeness. We look at the world as God does and we refuse to give up on what is beloved.
God of all people and every place, teach us the healing behavior of your peace and hope that we might look on our broken world and still glimpse the beauty of possibility. That we might behold nations torn by terror, hunger and fear and still discern the shalom you imagine for us. Make us brave enough to believe that another world is not only possible but on Her way. Gather the nations and let healing begin with us. In the strong name of Jesus, Amen.
