Blessing and Benediction from Rev. Adriene Thorne
by Rev. Adriene Thorne
God entrusted so much of the world’s healing to human hands and human hearts. Caregivers—whether they are professional, family, neighbors or friends—respond to a sacred calling. They hold stories and bodies; burdens and hope. They too often run empty while tending to others. We pause to honor them, to bless them, and to pray for their renewal.
Compassionate God, we lift before you all those who care for others. The ones whose hands soothe, whose words comfort, and whose presence steadies. Bless the caregivers who rise early and rest late, who give more than they ask for, who carry the unseen and too often unappreciated labor of tending. Strengthen those who are tired, dear God. Refresh those who are stretched thin. Guard the hearts of those who worry, and ease the minds of those who carry more than we will ever know. In Jesus name, we pray.
