The Gospel of Mark (13:24-37) reminds us that there are days of suffering when “the moon will not give its light.”

God calls us to keep watch, stay alert, even when we are weary … to find ways to shine truth, trust, and love into relationships nearby and far away.

So light a candle today, remembering others are lighting their for you and you are lighting yours for others. We are never ever alone and the sun will rise again as a child of God is born anew into our lives.

In the hope and the peace that we know in the One who Creates, Redeems and Sustains this moment and every moment after.
