Take no bag, no bread, no money in your belt. Take only sandals on your journey. That, and the grace of God. Except, know that you don’t take the grace of God with you, it simply comes to you and goes with you. So, do not be weighed down or encumbered by tangible things you’d put in a bag. Grace doesn’t go into a bag. It goes into our lives. Do not fret about lack of bread or resources, but remember the kindness of others you meet along the way, just as you are kind and generous to those you meet along their way. In kind generosity to one another, and in the abundant grace of God, we will be blessed for the journey ahead. May it be so.
