Olanda Carr, Jr., promoted to Assistant Vice President at Presbyterian Foundation

Olanda Carr, Jr., who has worked for the Presbyterian Foundation for 14 years, was recently promoted to Assistant Vice President.

In this new role, Olanda will assist with the responsibility of providing nationwide exposure to the Foundation’s ministry, to include individual engagement, workshops and programs in the areas of planned giving, estate planning, investments, and trust development. Olanda has served as a mentor to other Ministry Relations Officers throughout the country, and will continue to do so.

He will still serve as the Senior Ministry Relations Officer for the East Region, which includes North and South Carolina as well as National Capital Presbytery (Washington, D.C., area).

“Olanda has a true heart for ministry and the church, and provides excellent advice to congregations in his role as a Ministry Relations Officer,” says Stephen Keizer, Vice President of Ministry Relations. “He has proven to be time and again a dedicated, thoughtful colleague who thinks strategically as well as missionally. I am thrilled that he is willing to step into this new role and take on extra responsibilities, as this suits both his gifts and his calling.”

Olanda is looking forward to this new role. “God calls us each day to do new and exciting things,” Olanda says. “I believe my service with the Foundation is such a call, and it provides me with an opportunity to further God’s kingdom and the mission of the PC (USA).”

Olanda brings a wealth of community involvement that includes serving as Treasurer for the homeless services organization, Peter’s Place, Inc. and Vice President of the Kappa Foundation of Charlotte. He is also board member of the Catawba Economic Development Association. He has also served as a commissioner to the 219th General Assembly and a member of the Committee of Theological Education (COTE).

Olanda completed his undergraduate studies at North Carolina State University (Industrial Engineering) and Montreat College (Business Administration) and holds an MBA from Montreat College.  He is a Ruling Elder at First United Presbyterian Church (Charlotte, NC) and resides in Harrisburg, NC with his wife, Monica.
