Rev. Perrin Tribble Andersen joins Presbyterian Foundation as Director of Theological Education Funds Development

by Robyn Davis Sekula

Rev. Perrin Tribble Andersen joined the Presbyterian Foundation on October 15 as Director of Theological Education Funds Development, bringing a passion for theological education, a strong background in fundraising and a commitment to helping the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) prepare its next generation of leaders.

Andersen, an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament in the PC(USA), comes to the Foundation from Union Presbyterian Seminary, where she served as Advancement and Alumni Relations Officer based on the seminary’s Charlotte, N.C., campus.

She previously worked at Presbyterian College, where she helped connect the College’s educational mission with the life of the Presbyterian Church. This experience deepened her understanding of relationships among congregations, church-related institutions, and theological formation, while strengthening her experience in stewardship and advancement.

Andersen earned an Executive Certificate Religious Fundraising from the Lake Institute on Faith & Giving at Indiana University in September 2023.

New role

In her new role, Andersen will work with donors, congregations and other supporters to grow financial support for PC(USA) seminaries through the Theological Education Fund (TEF) and Theological Schools Endowment Fund (TSEF).

“Theological education is an investment in the future of the Church,” Andersen said. “As a lifelong Presbyterian, I know how important it is to prepare leaders who can serve congregations and communities with energy, intelligence, imagination, and love. Grounded in our conviction of the priesthood of all believers, I believe theological education is for the whole Church, not just those called to ordained ministry. I’m grateful for the opportunity to join the Foundation in this role as we support the great work of PC(USA) seminaries in forming faithful leaders and nurturing the theological life of our congregations.”

The Theological Education Fund supports the work of Presbyterian seminaries as they educate and equip pastors and other leaders for service to the church. Through contributing to the Fund, Presbyterians can participate in the shared responsibility of preparing leaders who will guide congregations, serve communities and respond to God’s call in a changing world.

Andersen’s work will focus on cultivating relationships with current and prospective supporters, helping them connect their generosity with the mission of theological education. She will also draw upon the financial services, charitable giving tools and resources of the Presbyterian Foundation and its affiliates to help build lasting support for Presbyterian seminaries.

Presbyterian Foundation strengthens theological education

Her appointment reflects the Foundation’s commitment to strengthening theological education and ensuring that Presbyterian seminaries have the resources they need to prepare faithful, thoughtful and effective leaders.

Andersen earned her Master of Divinity from Union Presbyterian Seminary in 2025. She joined the seminary’s Advancement team in April of that year, quickly becoming a valued colleague and trusted partner to alumni, donors, students, faculty, and staff.

During her time at Union, she strengthened the seminary’s advancement presence on its Charlotte campus and developed meaningful relationships throughout the institution. Her colleagues recognized her fundraising expertise, strategic insight and ability to listen carefully to donors, understand their passions and connect those interests with the seminary’s mission.

Building relationships

For Andersen, the new position represents an opportunity to combine her experience in institutional advancement with her calling as an ordained minister and her love for the Presbyterian Church.

Her work will extend beyond fundraising to helping Presbyterians understand why theological education matters to the future of the church. By building relationships among donors, congregations and seminaries, she will help strengthen the connections that sustain Presbyterian ministry across generations.

Andersen lives in Charlotte with her husband and son. Outside of her professional and ministerial commitments, she enjoys evening walks with her family and watching college sports, especially basketball.

Her appointment continues the Presbyterian Foundation’s longstanding work of connecting the generosity of Presbyterians with ministries that serve the church and advance its mission in the world.
