Bless our eyes to see ourselves as others see us
Bless our ears to hear ourselves sweetly
Bless our mouths to taste our intentions lest we abjure the mercy of our risen savior
Bless us to be the visitor the stranger the guest. Lead us to the blessing of hospitality the delight of truly welcoming and being wholly welcomed
Bless us to the sending
Send us to cancer hospitals
To state houses
To day care centers
To grocery stores
To gas stations
Not just to pass through
But to connect and engage
Hearts overflowing
Fill our hands with mercy
Fill us with hope we can’t buy but may give
Make us your fountain lord
Fountain of water and food in the urban desert
Fountain of forgiveness as violence encircles our lives. Help us to overflow with more than enough
Love
Bless us to be free of our fear of the ones we think are different
Bless us to be quirky and hilarious
Full of your joy and laughter
Playful Holy Spirit brood over us today

Rev. Dr. Rose Niles is a Ministry Relations Officer serving the Northeast. She most recently served at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary as Development Officer. Her degrees include a Bachelor’s from Harvard Radcliffe University in Comparative World Religion, a Masters of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School and a Doctor of Ministry from New York Theological Seminary working in the area of Immigration Justice Ministries.
