Blessing and Benediction from Rev. Dr. Andy Kort

by Rev. Dr. Andy Kort

Luke 9:28-36 (37-43)

As we remember the Transfiguration of the Lord, let us ascend the holy mountain with Jesus so that we too may be dazzled, amazed, and astounded as we receive a glimpse of his glory. But may we also go with our friends, our beloveds, those close to us, our Peters, our James, and our Johns, so that we are reminded that we do not experience Christ alone, but with others. And then may we always remember to go back down, where the people of God dwell, where pain resides, and where blessings flow. In doing so, may we look and see the hurt of this world. May we have the boldness to reach out our hands and our hearts in a loving response, casting out whatever pain we encounter or experience. And as we do, may we always be astounded at the greatness of God.
