Jarvie Committee awards grants to New York area organizations
by Presbyterian Foundation
At its fall 2025 meeting, the Jarvie Commonweal Service Committee approved grants totaling $375,000 to 11 organizations that provide care to the elderly in the New York City area. The grants are awarded for the 2026 program year.
In addition to the grants awarded as part of the regular grant cycle, the committee awarded an emergency grant to Encore Community Services for $10,000 to help fund their Meals on Wheels program. This grant was made amid cuts to SNAP benefits and the fall government shutdown.
The Jarvie program offers age-friendly care and support to older adults the New York City area. In addition to offering care and support to individuals, the committee (which oversees the program) awards grants to organizations that provide services to older adults in the area. Grants are awarded each fall. More information about the grant program is available on the Jarvie website, which is here. The Jarvie program is managed by the Board of National Missions, which is a constituent corporation of the Presbyterian Foundation.
