The Foundation believes it is important to resource pastoral leaders and the congregations that they serve to promote vitality and excellence in ministry. With the help of the Lilly Foundation’s Endowment Program, the Presbyterian Foundation continues to better equip PCUSA pastors facing economic challenges with the launch of The Church Technology Grant. The COVID-19 pandemic had dramatic and disruptive impacts on congregations and exacerbated many of the financial challenges that pastoral leaders face. The pastors who have been hardest hit by the pandemic are those who are serving small-membership congregations and congregations of color.
Applications will be accepted for The Church Technology Grant from May 31 through July 14, 2022 and will be awarded up to $5,000. Funds are available for those pastoral leaders seeking to enhance their ministry in a variety of ways:
- Upgrade existing technology or purchase new technology
- Create a new church website
- Provide access to marketing and online communication tools
Pastors with the greatest need serving congregations of color, small churches, new immigrant congregations, and congregations in economically challenged locales. Grants will be given to churches or presbyteries for release to the pastor for direct purchase or reimbursement for technology purchases and training.
Grant applications will be reviewed after the closing date. You will be notified of a decision on August 15, 2022. We anticipate more applicants than available grants.
Our thanks to the Lilly Endowment Inc. for generously funding this program as part of a suite of programs we offer for pastors and churches.
