Re-envisioning Theological Education with Frank Yamada

July 22, 2020 by Lee Hinson-Hasty

Editor’s note: Each week, Lee Hinson-Hasty hosts a Facebook Live conversation with a different leader in ministry across the PC(USA). He asks each guest to share a charge and benediction at the conclusion of the conversation. We’ve transcribed each charge and benediction on the blog to inspire you in your ministry and your life.

“Friends, as we go forward into this new world that is shaped by many challenges and thing that we have encountered before in our lives – both the twin pandemics of COVID-19 and systemic racism – may we live faithfully into the call our God has put before us, that the Spirit leads us to. May we be converted again and again to the work of the Spirit and the work God is trying in the church and in the world. May you be agents of that change and transformation – that conversion – so that we may live more faithfully into what God has for us as a people.

“In this, we ask for God’s grace, we ask for God’s mercy, we ask for God’s justice and we thank you, dear Lord, for this time to be able to gather even in spaces that are remote, not virtual. We ask for your real presence to be among us knowing that presence is not virtual but is what gives us life and sustains us. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.”
