The Presbyterian Foundation leadership and staff express our sincere sympathies to the families and loved ones of Rev. Robina Winbush and Mike Miller, both of whom held vital roles in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Both died this week within 24 hours of one another.

Rev. Winbush collapsed and died after landing in New York on Tuesday, March 12, returning home from a journey to Israel and Palestine with PC(USA) colleagues. She could not be revived. Robina served as director of Ecumenical Relations in the PC(USA)’s Office of the General Assembly. Everyone who worked with Robina knew her great passion for ecumenical relations and justice, and her deep and wide love for the work of the national offices of the PC(USA).

Mike Miller died Tuesday night, March 12. He served as acting Chief Financial Officer of PC(USA) A Corporation (A Corp). He passed away of an apparent massive heart attack.

Mike joined the staff in April 2018 as Acting Director of Shared Services for the Presbyterian Mission Agency and was named to his latest role last September. Prior to that, Mike served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Commonwealth Bancshares. Foundation Leadership who worked closely with Mike Miller remember him as a steady hand and calm voice in the midst of many changes.

Even as we mourn the losses of these dedicated colleagues, friends, fellow employees, and siblings in Christ, we entrust them to the grace, mercy and tender care of the Lord Jesus Christ, and we live in the eternal hope of Christ’s resurrection.
